This 2.5 hour course is aimed at professionals working with children, young people and adults at risk and specifically individuals that take a lead on safeguarding for their organisation.
When making safeguarding referrals it is essential to ensure that the information we submit is clear, concise and evidence based giving detail on What, When, Where and How.
This course will equip you to gather and present the best evidence of your concerns at referral point so that an appropriate response can be made, reducing the chance of children, young people or adults at risk, not receiving the immediate safeguarding response required.
Key learning outcomes:
- To be able to define ‘Evidence’
- To have a good understanding of the ‘Evidence Funnel’.
- To use effective questioning skills to gather accurate evidence at the point of disclosure.
- To know how to record and present evidence effectively to demonstrate safeguarding concerns.
This course is delivered by Claire-Denby Knight, a professional trainer and Former Police Officer with a background in Safeguarding and is suitable for all professionals with a safeguarding responsibility including education, youth and housing sectors, HR departments and local councils.
